Volunteer SPOKES People

Help reduce the carbon footprint of our East Bay Events, reduce bike theft, and overall make the day for hundreds of grateful cyclist. 

Events:
•Temescal Street Fair•Art and SOUL•Pedal Fest•Berkeley Kite Festival•World One Music Festival El Cerrito•Fourth Of July Berkeley•Rockridge Out and About•North Berkeley Farmers Market (weekly), and more...


SPOKES Volunteers are key to keeping Bike valet alive in the Bay Area. Without your help more people drive, streets get congested and pedestrians are overpowered by cars. 

with your help, People feel safe to roll up with their friends and families and enjoy=my door to door service and the comradery of East Bay's bike culture. 

We need volunteers who are agile
•enthusiastic 
•energetic 
•positive
•focussed and efficient 
•able to move on your feet and navigate handling a wide variety of bikes
•Outgoing and able to represent SPOKES bike movement and sometimes support advocacy and marketing campaigns. 

Volunteer shifts start at 4hours although some volunteers hand for the whole event. 

Volunteer positions are:

Checker: check-in cyclist get their information on clipboards and attach tags to the bikes. Direct the flow and be hostess

Valet Runner: 
•receive the bikes and run them to the racks, organize racks for retrieval 
•Retrieve bikes and return them to customers. 
•Needs attentiveness and agility and a firm respect for OPP ( other peoples bikes 
•Keep the corral secure and maintain the boundaries of the bike valet

Valet Transporter: 
•this person loves cargo bikes and riding with equipment
• the volunteer that understands and assists in Proper setup and breakdown of equipment. 
•Under the direction of Valet, manager helps to maintain and protect equipment from damage and pack equipment like a Tetris master. 


•SPOKES VALET Volunteers get SPOKES membership after 6+hours:
•All Volunteers get 15-20% off labor and accessories and select bikes
•$25 referral fee for each new member you refer
•$25 Store credit account to start each time you volunteer for 4+ hours
•Lots of gratitude.
